Cube Root is currently seeking multiple Assistant Project Managers to support multiple projects in Washington, DC. The primary responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager in client relationships, contractor/consultant management, administrating prime contracts, estimating and cost control, contractor invoice intake and review, construction reporting, submittal review and management, and knowledge of scheduling principles. The role requires the ability to read and comprehend prime contracts and Owner consultant agreements and manage day-to-day office activities required by these documents. Identifying and conveying critical issues in a timely manner, offering and assisting in the implementation of solutions as appropriate, is essential.
Maintaining direct interaction with owners, design teams, prime contractors, and other consultants is crucial. The Assistant Project Manager adds value to the Client and considers their best interest when making decisions. The role also involves identifying and assisting in arbitrating project-related conflicts between contractors or consultants and the Client, maintaining familiarity with field activity by regularly surveying the site, and supporting the Quality Assurance team as required.
Organizing project documentation intake and managing project documentation and summary tracking logs is necessary. Ensuring that invoices, change orders, submittals, and RFIs are accurately and timely managed is vital. The Assistant Project Manager should be able to quickly learn and become proficient in using the Client project management software and other administrative programs. Acting under the direction of the PM to ensure that contractor and consultant payment is timely, and addressing contractor payment issues with urgency are also key tasks. Reviewing change orders, proposals, bids, invoices, and other pricing documentation for basic compliance while assisting the Project Manager with the development of budget forecasting is expected.
Leading by example by wearing appropriate safety gear and following safety requirements is essential, along with displaying a positive and productive attitude toward safety.
As needed, the Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with preparing scopes of work for any new Owner initiatives, providing effective oral and written communication, and preparing various meeting agendas and minutes for distribution.
Using the project schedule as a basis for daily activity and being comfortable with scheduling principles to identify and report on field or office activity that does not conform to the published schedule is required.
Position Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
- 2+ years of experience.
- Experience utilizing Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) preferred.
