What you’ll do as a GIS Drafter Designer

• Create, modify and review technical drawings, GIS/CAD maps and plans based upon customer requirements
• Create and provide revised GIS/CAD drawings and maps based on feedback and markup. Maintain drawing and map files and documentation
• Plans, designs, prepares GIS/CAD maps and drawings and obtains permits, pole attachment and/or pole loading agreements (PTAs) for new or existing underground and aerial cable routes
• Reviews field notes to provide engineering overlay and appropriate engineering and construction notes
• Engages daily with the company design team, GIS team, as well as in-house project management staff to ensure customer congruency and construction efficiency
• Maintains safe working habits and conditions per company policy
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need 

• High School Diploma or GED; related 2-year degree preferred
• Working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices and regulations pertaining to the
  engineering of fiber optic outside plant facilities
• Working knowledge of GIS data (parcel, state, county, city boundaries, easements, right of way)
• Ability to read and understand GIS maps and CAD drawings
• Knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro/AutoCAD/Microstation or similar GIS or CAD drafting software
• Remote or Office Position

Salary Range $20 - $22 Hr
