Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
- Primary Skill: Oracle PL/SQL.
- Secondary: Oracle GoldenGate, Cassandra.
- Experience: 7+ years.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- 7+ years of experience in relational database.
- Strong SQL background.
- Able to troubleshoot and tune SQL performance issues.
- Experience with Cassandra/CQL/DataStax tools.
- Firm understanding of the core concepts of Cassandra and able to assist with troubleshooting problems.
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication technology.
- Experience with IBM's DataStage a plus.
- Experience with the development models such as Agile and SDLC.
- Experience in data management best practices.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Must be comfortable working on a distributed, multi-time zone team.
- Database Development and Optimization.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers and views for mission critical applications.
- Analyze execution plans, apply indexing strategies and PL/SQL for performance (bulk operations, indexing, pipelined functions).
- Ensure normalization, integrity constraints, partitioning, and effective indexing.
- Collaborate with DBAs for capacity planning and system tunning.
- Database engineer responsible for the Oracle and Cassandra databases.
- Candidate will work closely with Database Administration and development teams to define, develop and maintain those databases, with a keen focus on data quality and optimal database performance.
- Must have experience working with large, replicated databases.
- Strong demonstration of effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, planning, time management, and organization skills.
- Proven team player with the ability to foster a team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and comprehension of core business functions, processes and operations.
- Experience working with the global delivery model.
- Ability to lead a discussion and drive to a solution.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems. Self-starter, capable of helping to develop a roadmap for handling DB upgrades.
