About the Job
The Director of Education & Training is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Sanctuary Model, including the curriculum, professional training, and education programs. The Director of Education & Training supervises all faculty consultants, interns, and volunteers. The Director is responsible for managing the overall development and quality of the Education & Training programs as well as all curriculums. The Director of Education & Training is a member of the Institutes Leadership Team and reports to Associate Vice President (AVP) of Business Operations of the Sanctuary Institute.
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participates in delivery of services
• Maintaining Train-the-Trainer status for the Sanctuary Model - Maintains quality of service delivery
• Oversees curriculum review, development and rollout
• Oversees Sanctuary Certification process
• Addresses customer concerns and raises concerns brings to AVP of Business Operations - Manages SI faculty consultants (full time and adjunct)
• Ensures proper training and supervision for each faculty consultant on a regular basis
• Roll-models appropriate facilitation and consultation techniques to faculty
• Strategizes with faculty for best implementation procedures - Manages new product development
• Stay current on trends and industry research with support from identified Consultants, and incorporates into curriculum
• Researches, creates, and deploys new methods to share new and updated information such as videos, blogs, podcasts, etc. - Maintains Sanctuary Network
• Participates in Coordinating annual Sanctuary Network Days Conference and other events or programs throughout the year
• Interacts regularly with Sanctuary Network Members
• Serves as Chief Editor of the Sanctuary Network Newsletter - Markets the Sanctuary Model
• Conducts presentations to a variety of professional audiences on the Sanctuary Model
• Writes articles for publication in trade journals with support from Consultant groups
• Maintains and updates Sanctuary marketing materials
• Creates and maintains social media presence - Ensures that all licenses with the State Education Department are renewed and maintained
- Other duties as assigned by AVP of Business Operations or VP & Chief Administrative Officer.
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s Degree required
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Training and Curriculum development
- Experience with Trauma Informed Practices and the Sanctuary Model a plus
- Minimum three years in Supervisory role; supervision of hybrid teams a plus
- Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Strong technological background including social media, Microsoft products such as Power Point and design software such as Canva.
Physical/Travel Requirements
An employee in this class must be able to sit, stand, walk, see, climb stairs, and carry up to 30 lbs. The employee must be able to meet these requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role will travel approximately 25% of the time which may include overnight and international travel as needed. Employee will work hybrid, both on-site at the Sanctuary Institute in Yonkers, NY and remote. Employee must work independently and schedule time as appropriate to fulfill duties within the work week.
Valid driver’s license required with reliable transportation.
