Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100firm, is seeking an experienced Sr. Associate Attorney to join their Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated attorney to work on cutting-edge technologies and high-value patent portfolios for a sophisticated client base.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
- 6+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience at a law firm of comparable rank.
- Undergraduate or Advanced Degree in one of the following is required:
- Electrical Engineering,
- Computer Engineering,
- Software Engineering,
- Computer Science, or
- Physics.
- USPTO Admission is required.
- Significant experience drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications, ideally related to graphics processing units, tensor processing units, accelerators, neural engines, robotics circuitry, and actuators.
- Ability to quickly master and communicate complex technical subject matter.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and supervising junior attorneys or patent agents.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications covering advanced electrical and software-related technologies.
- Manage patent prosecution projects for a sophisticated, global client base.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to junior attorneys and patent agents.
- Align patent strategies with client innovation and business objectives.
- Collaborate across offices and practice groups to deliver integrated intellectual property solutions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on portfolio development and protection.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Includes an annual salary range of $245,000–$390,000, depending on experience and market factors, in addition to eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
