Primary Responsibilities: * Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. * Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. * Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. * Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. * Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications. * Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements. * Designs embedded systems software. * Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. * Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. * Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. * Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. * Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems * Management, other related discipline, or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree * 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience * Ability to work well within a small team environment * Strong communication skills * US Citizenship * DOD Secret Clearance is required.
