Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday - Shield Restraint Systems Inc.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the facility and equipment in compliance with manufacturer and/or SHIELD requirements.
The 2nd shift hours are 3:30pm - 2am, Monday through Thursday. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs regular maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools and facilities.
• Assists in the repair of industrial sewing machines and other industrial equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Stock adequate replacement parts to minimize machine downtime
• Fabricate components as needed for repairs or modifications.
• Operate scissor lifts safely to access elevated work areas.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients or stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory.
• Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities through industrial ERP system or other applicable software.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain flexible work hours to accommodate production schedule
• Performs other duties as required.

Role Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• Understanding and use of basic math and numbers, able to use a computer and a calculator.
• Demonstrates ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and operating manuals.     
• Demonstrates ability to use precision measuring instruments or tools, and to use manual tools.
• Ability to independently communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English; ability to read and write English.
• Ability to identify safety issues in their work area.
• Ability to work independently.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance.
• Experience in industrial sewing machine operation, maintenance & repair (preferred)
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and control technology.
• Strong understanding of machine diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules and regulations.
• Working knowledge hazardous material handling procedures and practices.
