Responsibilities
· Supervise Material Technicians in support of shipping, receiving, and container management plant wide.
· Monitor Material Technicians use of WMS to validate material movement within the warehouse according to proper processes.
· Responsible for managing manpower to RTR appropriately to support operational requirements and meet budgeted overtime.
· Assumes special assignments as directed by Operations Manager that include, but are not limited to, inventory control issues, cost savings, and layout improvement for material flow, etc.
· Ensure windows of trucks are maintained and shipments are met per customer requirements.
· Maintain Material Technician employee reviews and take appropriate disciplinary action when required.
· Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
· Responsible to ensure plant 5S standards are met and maintained.
· Ensure all paperwork for shipping (Bills of Lading, Manual Shippers, etc.) is completed.
· Communicate with onsite logistics support to assist with managing freight within budget.
· Recognize and escalate nonconforming packaging and labeling issues.
· Coordinate with Engineering and Materials to perform layout changes for production/customer requirements.
· Communicate/coordinate with customers when appropriate (i.e. Customer obsolescence claims, etc.)
· Document all activities as required.
· Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
· Perform and Safety Observation Tours and address findings to promote a culture of safety.
· Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent. 2-year college degreepreferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Traffic, logistics, or warehousing background
· Strong computer skills
· Strong communication skills verbal and written
· Preferred knowledge of JIT systems
· Strong attention to detail and follow-through
· 3-5 years supervisory experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment, preferably automotive suppliers, is highly desirable
