Mechanical Engineer - Actalent

Description Convert industrial design outputs to engineering designs for fabrication (less than 10 units, possibly up to 20). Focus on mechanical design, potentially including mechanical actuation. Scope: Small hardware (size of a laptop), no electrical components. Pilot project with a short scope, ending in September. First units ready by April, with field testing in Q2 and a formal pilot in Q3. Skills Required: Expertise in SolidWorks and mechanical engineering. Experience in rapid prototyping, robotics, and industrial design. Ability to work with 3D printed materials (PLA, PETG) and lightweight composites. Knowledge of mold flow analysis and tooling design is a plus. Hands-on experience with lab equipment and 3D printers. Ability to handle ambiguity and integrate sub-components into larger assemblies. Light project management skills. Prior experience in aerospace, industrial design, robotics, or consumer design is beneficial. Speed and collaboration are key priorities. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $67.00/hr.
