Sr. Front-End Engineer, Outbound - Amazon

Description The Outbound Communication Services team operates the foundational systems that enable Amazon and its subsidiaries to communicate with customers on Email, SMS and Push endpoints. Our mission is to successfully transmit selected messages to customers ensuring high availability and low latency, and gathering near real-time feedback from the endpoints to create closed loop optimizations. Key job responsibilities As an experienced senior FEE, the candidate leads software development teams, collaborating with peers across different teams. Their role involves delivering comprehensive software systems, managing the entire lifecycle from design to maintenance. They engage stakeholders to refine processes, prioritize user experience, and address engineering needs for scalable solutions. They possess deep expertise in front-end engineering, covering areas like rendering, performance, accessibility, security, and compatibility. While they may not design every feature, they ensure all contributions align with overarching goals and meet quality standards. Their coding sets the benchmark for best practices, guiding others and maintaining high standards. As an experienced senior FEE, the candidate excels in navigating complex problems with evolving technology landscapes, prioritizing long-term solutions over quick fixes. They facilitate collaboration between design, engineering, and product teams, ensuring measurable outcomes. Additionally, they explore non-technical solutions and promote operational excellence within their teams. They foster a culture of inclusive communication, mentorship, and continuous growth among team members. Basic Qualifications - 4+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience - 5+ years of front-end developer creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows experience - Experience developing with MVC/MVM frameworks (e.g. React.JS, AngularJS, Vue) - Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST - Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
